Paul Thompson Retires

Current and former colleagues gathered at WCL recently in order to mark the retirement of Paul Thompson, Director of Sales.

Paul has been with WCL for over 41 years in two spells  - initially joining in March 1978, he left for a brief spell before realising nothing compared to Gaskets, returning in 1991 and working right through to his retirement.

Paul initially started working in Internal Sales and progressed through the positions of Area Representative and Project Manager before becoming  Sales  Director in 2001.

Paul is well known and respected in the Industry both at home and in the many countries where WCL products are supplied. Similarly his (now former) colleagues love everything about him, apart from his choice of Football Team which is not universally popular - we will leave that there.

Managing Director Graham Haworth lead the tributes to Paul and the fact that so many former workmates joined the celebrations was a testament to how popular Paul is.  He received a number of gifts including  a customary WCL cake and the golf clubs he  chose have, we are told,  already been put to good use. Paul will also spend time visiting his family which, like WCL, also has a global presence.
